Hala Beydoun
Founder & Creative Director of Cocoa & Co.

Hala’s .. "sweet" affair started as a fun hobby in her kitchen.
Her eldest daughter’s first birthday party was such a celebration of tastes and colors and designs that she started to receive orders. Every birthday after that proved to be a better, more creative celebration. Hala soon realized that she wanted to pursue her love for baking and cake design.
Her daughters’ birthday parties provided a playground for Hala to experiment with her new passion. She held the most original themed-birthday parties with everything handmade, homemade with a lot of love. From the invitation cards to the decoration to the games to the food and, of course, the cakes and cookies, Hala did everything from scratch.
Hala’s first `sold' cake in June 2000 was a number 1 lazy cake glazed with Nutella chocolate frosting and covered with a rainbow of colored ``Smarties'' all over.
Juggling a career as an English teacher and her cake-baking, Hala’s catering business grew from her home. In just a few years, Cocoa & Co. evolved one cake at a time until her dining-room-turned-bakery would not fit the accelerating orders. Cocoa & Co was shipping cookies to the four corners of the world, and was featured in trendy magazines and television.
Cocoa & Co. moved to the “Kitch’in” in 2008. Less than a year later, Cocoa & Co opened its window to the world showcasing its designer edible art. People from all over Beirut came to the boutique in trendy Ashrafieh for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies and Cocoa’s many other specialties.
In October 2014, Cocoa & Co. moved to Beirut Souks. Two months later a second location came alive inside Marqet in Koraytem, also in Beirut. A year later another location popped up in ABC Ashrafieh, and then in ABC Dabyeh, two of Lebanon’s biggest malls.
In March 2017, Cocoa & Co. spread its wings to reach Dubai. The pop-up at Level Kids is still ongoing.
Hala has a B.A. in Social & Behavioral Sciences from AUB. She previously worked as a marketeer and a teacher.
